About
Armelle Kloppenburg MSc PhD
Founding Director and Principal Structural Geologist
A structural geologist with consultancy, research and teaching experience since 2001.
I obtained an MSc and PhD studying the tectono-magmatic evolution of the Archaean Pilbara granite-greenstone terrain as part of an international research group, based at Utrecht University, The Netherlands.
In 2001 I joined Midland Valley in Glasgow, Scotland, where I worked as a consultant structural geologist for over 11 years. Here I applied structural geological analysis, 2D and 3D modelling, validation principles and kinematic techniques on projects across the globe, for petroleum and mining, onshore and offshore, from grassroots exploration to enhanced recovery and mine-life extension, across scales and across geological settings from extensional to contractional, in sedimentary basins, metamorphic and igneous terrains worldwide.
In 2012 I founded 4DGeo to focus on consulting and training across sectors combined with academic teaching and training, globally.
